1. Give your stitching a quick press before you photograph it to iron out fabric folds or creases, which can create shadows.
2. Take your photo before framing with glass to prevent reflections
3. A busy background to your stitching can detract from the design – keep it simple!
4. Natural light is flattering – take your photos outside when it's sunny.
5. Your stitching should fit the view find – rotate your camera by 90 degrees for portrait designs
6. Use your digital camera on its highest setting.
7. If your pics are sometimes blurred, rest the camera on a flat surface to keep it steady.
8. Take a few photos – we can't get everything perfect first time!
9. Try not to take photos by a window – this creates shadows.
A couple of examples...
This photo is taken by a window, it's blurry and you can't see the face of the person holding it properly. This isn't a good photo!
This is the perfect picture! You can see the design and stitcher clearly, with good lighting and perfectly fitting the photo.Remember these things and you'll be on your way to perfect pics. Happy snapping!
