I've just done a short framing course as I was hoping to save some money on framing all my cross stitch and thought it was worth mentioning that normal masking tape is not recommended for framing as it is very acidic. This means it could damage your fabric in the end. You can buy something called Conservation Tape (online or from art or framing shops) which is acid free/neutral and much better to use.
